Saw Pearl's on the TV show Home Town. We were not all that hungry so we opted for the banana pudding. On first take, thought the portion was small but wait...it is so rich and filling, I could not have eaten another bite. Pearl's has limited hours...11 to 2 I think, so don't be late. The diner was packed and the line was long but service was fast so no problem. Looked like the fried chicken was the hot ticket...locals said "...it is soul food on steroids" and if the pudding is an indicator, they were accurate. If you go to or through Laurel, stop and give it a try... you'll love it.

Me, my Cousin and two-family associates ate at Pearl’s Diner yesterday. We drove 3 hours and 35 minutes to get there. The food was great. I am a vegetarian so I had the three-vegetable plate. I loved it. We met Mrs. Pearl, her Sister, her Son, and other staff members; they were excellent. After eating we went shopping at Leila Boutique, The Laurel Leaf and Laurel Mercantile Co. It is worth the drive, also the local people were very friendly. Yes, we will be going back.

The meat and three diner I've always wanted to eat at! Pearl's was amazing! Delicious home cooking. I had the hamburger steak, turnip greens, sweet potato and cornbread. Not pictured is the BEST mac and cheese I have ever had. Don't get me started on the banana pudding! Makes me want to move to Laurel!
